What is iBacon?
The bacons themselves are small, crispy pork sections. Apps installed on your smart phone seek out the signal transmitted by these scrumptious sizzling bacons via nano-scent-receptors and respond accordingly when the phone comes into range.
For example, if you pass a bacon in the street, the restaurant’s app may alert you of a special offer. On a visit to a diner, the diner’s app would provide information about the closest breakfast time, using your distance from bacons placed near diners to work out your position. As such, iBacon could be a much better option for in-door breakfast mapping - which traditional analogue bacon location struggles with.
